I do want to point out though that "Sur La Mer" is definitely not the Moodies' most 'typical' album. If you're new to the Moody Blues and want a taste of their symphonic rock sound, you're better off starting with "To Our Children's Children's Children", "A Question of Balance", or "Seventh Sojourn"/5().

May 21, · referencing Sur la Mer, LP, Album, LPR , I just got a copy of this version and although it has 2 extra songs sung in Spanish, the songs are not listed on the back cover which only has the regular 10 songs listed/5().

In all fairness, none of the songs are total failures, and Sur La Mer is a bit more consistent overall than the Moodies last effort, The Other Side of Life. "Vintage Wine" is a catchy, if slight, look back at the '60s. "Deep" is as overtly sexual as any piece in the Moody Blues songbook. "Breaking Point" is much darker than most material in the 4/

'Sur la Mer' honestly isn't all that bad, folks. Granted it WAS the late 's but you have to remember this band IS the fabulous Moody Blues after all. These men are just incapable of making a completely bad record-they are just too darned talented, quite frankly. Lets face it, they could sing the ingredients on a cereal box and make it sound /5().

Sur la Mer is the thirteenth album by The Moody Blues. It was released in It features the hit single "I Know You're Out There Somewhere", a sequel to their hit "Your Wildest Dreams". Much of the music on the album would fit in the "synthpop" genre, though it does bear more rock and acoustic influences than its predecessor. The sessions for "Sur La Mer" did not go without incident, mainly that Ray Thomas was never asked to the studio to record or write any material at all for this album. Some sources say the trouble started with "The Other Side of Life" and were exasperated by "Sur La Mer", other sources say it began with "Sur La Mer".
